Who doesn’t like the taste of pasta? That comfort food is so versatile that you can eat it every day without getting bored with it. Even though it is best served to steam hot during cold nights, there are many options for summertime that don’t require standing behind the stove for hours. Here are a few recommendations.

1. White Sauce Pasta

You will need:
-1/2 cup of whole-grain pasta
-1 tbsp. of butter
-3 cloves of garlic
-half a white onion
-1 cup of mushrooms
-half a cup of bell peppers
-half a cup of sweet corn
-4 tbsp. of olive oil
-1/2 cup of milk
-1 cup of cheddar cheese
-half a cup of flour
-1 tbsp. of chili flakes
-salt and pepper

To make this easy recipe, first put three cups of water with a tablespoon of olive oil to boil. After that, add your pasta and let it cook until it becomes soft. In the meantime put some butter into a frying pan, add onions and garlic and let them cook. Then, add mushrooms, bell peppers, and corn, season them and after they are soft and glazed, remove them from the heat.

In another pan put some butter and olive oil and add flour. Mix it well so that you avoid lumps, then add in milk, slowly.

After the sauce thickens, sprinkle it with some cheese, chili flakes, and salt and pepper.

Mix in vegetables, pasta, and the sauce and enjoy this delicious meal.

2. Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

You will need:
-200g of fettuccini noodles
-1 pound of shrimp
-half of a white onion
-2 tbsp. of butter
-1 garlic clove
-1 cup of lemon juice
-2 cups of cream
-half a cup of parmesan cheese
-1 tbsp. of fresh parsley
-1 tbsp. of smoked paprika
-salt and pepper
-2 tbsp. of olive oil

Start making this meal by cooking your fettuccini noodles in three cups of salted and boiling water. Cook the pasta until it is soft.

In the meantime, season fresh shrimp with some salt and pepper and a tablespoon of smoked paprika. Put two tablespoons of olive oil into a pan and add your marinated shrimp. Let them cook until they are golden brown from both sides.

Add some butter into the same pan in which you cooked your shrimp, finely chop half an onion, add it into the pan together with garlic and let them cook. After they become soft and golden, put some lemon juice. The acidity will eventually evaporate and you will have a nice flavor to your meal.

Pour some cream into the sauce as well. After it boils salt and pepper it and let it cook for two more minutes. After that, add some cheese, let it melt and then remove your sauce from the stove.

Mix your cooked shrimp, fettuccini noodles and Alfredo sauce into a bowl, add some fresh parsley and enjoy in this comfort food.
